The Leomansley Project

Over the last eighteen months the Society has promoted the restoration of an area of woodland bordering the Maple Hayes estate and including two substantial pools. In co-operation with the Staffordshire Nature Conservation Trust, the Community Opportunity Program (C.O.P.) and the landowners concerned the Society has been instrumental in starting a long term project to increase the flow of water, deepen and clean the pools and improve the general conditions by the pool-sides. The latest phase of the project, involving a large team of young people from C.O.P. started on 5th October and involves clearing the silt, debris and dead wood from the lower pool. There is public access at the eastern side of this pool via the public footpath near Leomansley House.
